Project Manager – Business Change

Location: Remote within British Columbia (Quarterly Travel Required)
Duration: 12-Month Contract

MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking an experienced Project Manager – Business Change to support one of British Columbia's largest utility providers. This opportunity is ideal for a seasoned project management professional with expertise in business process improvement, governance development, stakeholder engagement, and organizational change within complex environments.

The successful candidate will support Transmission Lines Capital Programs by leading process improvement initiatives, facilitating cross-functional collaboration, and driving the successful delivery of strategic business change projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead medium- to high-complexity business process improvement and transformation initiatives.

  • Develop and manage project plans, schedules, risk registers, communication plans, and status reporting.

  • Support governance development and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Facilitate workshops and stakeholder meetings to gather requirements and drive alignment.

  • Create and maintain business process maps, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and project documentation.

  • Engage with cross-functional stakeholders to identify opportunities, resolve challenges, and deliver project objectives.

  • Present recommendations and project updates to executive leadership.

  • Drive action and accountability through effective influence and collaboration.

  • Support data-informed decision making through reporting and performance analysis.

  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within scope, and within budget.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 9 years of project management experience.

  • Proven experience leading business process improvement or redesign initiatives.

  • Strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Experience working across multiple business groups and cross-functional teams.

  • Demonstrated experience developing business process maps and standard operating procedures.

  • Excellent executive-level communication, presentation, and documentation skills.

  • Ability to create structure and drive progress in complex or ambiguous environments.

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Utility industry experience.

  • Capital project experience.

  • Lean or Six Sigma certification or experience.

  • Experience with Power BI or business reporting tools.

  • Change management experience.

  • Strong technical analytics background.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation.
