MatchBox Consulting Group is partnered with a growing fuel and retail construction group with projects across Western Canada. We’re looking for a Project Manager who thrives on ownership, autonomy, and variety.

This isn’t a giant infrastructure role where you get lost in the shuffle. Projects are typically up to ~$2M—gas stations with retail components (think Tim Hortons, McDonald’s, or 7-Eleven) and commercial renovations or rebuilds. You’ll run projects cradle to grave, from zoning approvals and building permits to managing specialized contractors and delivering turnkey results.

You’ll be part of a small, collaborative team of grounded professionals who like their work and support each other. Reporting directly to the COO, you’ll be trusted to lead, solve problems, and take pride in what you deliver.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Manage commercial renovation and new build projects from permitting through completion.
• Lead zoning and building permit applications with municipalities.
• Develop estimates, prepare tenders, and award subcontractor contracts.
• Coordinate multiple specialized contractors across civil, mechanical, and building scopes.
• Oversee budgets, schedules, and quality standards.
• Ensure seamless handover with retail/IT teams for new site openings.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of Project Management experience, ideally in gas stations, retail renovations, or commercial new builds.
• Strong understanding of permits, zoning, and regulatory processes.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple moving parts.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and confident running cradle-to-grave projects.
• Experience with fuel systems (pumps, tanks, supply lines) is a big asset.
