Regional Director – Vancouver Island
Victoria, BC | Full-Time | Leadership Role
MatchBox Consulting Group is working with a highly respected construction firm to recruit a Regional Director to lead their Vancouver Island operations, based in Victoria.
This is a true leadership and management hire, with responsibility for both people and portfolio. The successful candidate will oversee the Island team while acting as the senior executive lead on one of the largest and most important development portfolios on Vancouver Island.
The Opportunity
This role combines:

A key component of this role is stewardship of a $1B+ development portfolio, making this one of the most senior and influential construction leadership roles on Vancouver Island.
The firm is deeply relationship-driven. As a result, this role is Victoria-based, and relocation is not being considered.
What You’ll Be Responsible For

Lead, mentor, and develop the existing Vancouver Island team

Oversee a large, complex portfolio of active and future projects at an executive level
-
Act as the primary senior contact for major Island-based clients and partners
-
Provide strategic oversight on schedules, risk, delivery, and resourcing
-
Ensure projects are executed consistently with company standards and values
-
Support business growth and long-term presence on Vancouver Island
-
Travel periodically up-Island and to the Lower Mainland as required
This is a visible, trusted leadership role with real authority and accountability.
Ideal Background
-
5+ years in a senior leadership role (Director, Senior Manager, or equivalent)
-
10+ years in project management delivering complex construction projects
-
Proven track record of seeing projects through from start to finish

Strong construction background:

Engineering

Architecture

Solid technical understanding to complement leadership experience

Comfortable operating at an executive and client-facing level

Collaborative, grounded leadership style with high emotional intelligence

Being in the office with the team matters. This role offers limited remote work (up to 1 day per week), by design.
Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $150,000 – $170,000

Discretionary bonus
-
3 weeks vacation

80/20 extended health & dental coverage

1 day per week work-from-home

Initial interview with senior leadership (Victoria-based)

Performance assessment with a performance psychologist, plus reference checks
