MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a Safety Manager to join our client, a progressive mechanical contractor delivering design-build, design-assist, and district energy solutions across commercial, healthcare, education, and civic sectors.

This Safety Manager role offers the chance to lead safety culture across multiple projects, develop programs, and influence workplace practices while collaborating with skilled teams in a hands-on environment. Responsibilities

• Conduct job site inspections, hazard assessments, toolbox talks, and incident investigations.
• Develop, implement, and maintain Health and Safety programs and initiatives.
• Promote a strong safety culture company-wide.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, contractors’ requirements, and OH&S regulations.
• Deliver OH&S, mobile equipment, and fit testing training (subject to TTT certification).
• Maintain safety records and analyze trends to identify improvement opportunities.
• Manage PPE, first aid equipment, and other safety supplies across job sites.
• Participate in safety committees and lead Foreperson & Lead Hand meetings.
• Prepare site safety plans, hazard assessments, and first aid assessments.
• Administer first aid on sites, in the office, and in the fabrication shop.
• Stay current on OH&S legislation, best practices, and emerging risks.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of experience, preferably in construction.
• Valid Occupational First Aid (Level 2 minimum).
• COR® Internal Auditor designation preferred.
• Diploma or Bachelor’s in Health & Safety.
• NCSO and CRST certifications are assets.
• Strong knowledge of OH&S legislation, standards, and best practices.
• Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills.
• Comfortable leading groups, working independently, and visiting multiple job sites.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with digital safety programs is a plus.
• Class 5 driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
