Senior Accountant

North Vancouver | Full-Time | 1-Year Term (Maternity Leave Coverage)
$90,000–$95,000 Base + Benefits | 3 Weeks Vacation | In-Office

MatchBox Consulting Group is representing a well-established, large-scale industrial operator on the North Vancouver waterfront in their search for a Senior Accountant.

This is a full-time, 1-year term role covering maternity leave, with potential for extension or long-term growth as the finance team continues to expand.

This role sits on the operating (OPEX) side of the business, reporting directly to the Assistant Controller and working within a 5-person accounting team (10 total across finance).

The Opportunity

This is a hands-on senior accounting role in a complex, operational environment. You will own full-cycle accounting responsibilities while supporting budgeting, reporting, payroll oversight, and system improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Reporting

• Full-cycle accounting in accordance with IFRS
• Monthly reconciliations and financial close support
• GST/PST preparation and filings
• Fixed asset and inventory accounting
• Depreciation and capital cost application
• Support external audit processes
• Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting

• Operational Finance

• Manage billing processes and ensure accurate, timely invoicing
• Oversee day-to-day banking and cash applications
• Partner with management on receivables and overdue accounts
• Support labour cost processing, including union payroll oversight
• Assist with Accounts Payable functions

Budgeting & Systems

• Support operating budget and forecast processes
• Translate industrial/operational system data into ERP reporting
• Assist in ongoing ERP and financial reporting system improvements

Controls

• Support internal control framework and process safeguards
• Contribute to financial process improvements

Qualifications

Must-Haves:

• CPA designation
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience
• Strong full-cycle accounting experience
• Experience with JD Edwards (JDE)

Additional Strengths:

• Experience in industrial, infrastructure, or asset-heavy environments
• Strong analytical skills
• High attention to detail
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced setting
• Comfortable working cross-functionally with operations teams

Compensation & Structure

• Base Salary: $90,000–$95,000
• Comprehensive benefits (excluding LTD and pension)
• 3 weeks vacation
• Overtime eligible
• Monday–Friday schedule
• Full-time, in-office role in North Vancouver (no hybrid)
