MatchBox Consulting is looking for an experienced Senior Biologist with a strong background in terrestrial and wildlife ecology to support environmental projects across British Columbia. This role combines field and office work and is ideal for a motivated professional with consulting experience, technical expertise, and strong leadership skills.

Location: Vancouver, BC (Hybrid)

Responsibilities:

• Design, lead, and coordinate field studies for species-at-risk, habitat assessments, and biodiversity monitoring

• Analyze ecological data to support environmental assessments and regulatory compliance

• Prepare technical reports and submissions aligned with provincial and federal requirements

• Engage with clients, agencies, Indigenous communities, and stakeholders

• Manage multi-disciplinary teams, project budgets, schedules, and deliverables

• Mentor junior staff and contribute to proposals and business development

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Biology, Ecology, or Environmental Science

• R.P.Bio or P.Biol in good standing with the BC College of Applied Biologists

• 10+ years of professional experience in environmental consulting and fieldwork

• Expertise in terrestrial ecology and wildlife biology

• Experience with permitting, mitigation planning, and regulatory frameworks

• Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills

• Valid Class 5 driver’s license and willingness to travel for fieldwork
