Senior DevOps Engineer

MatchBox Consulting Group is currently seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer for a permanent role with a start-up Fintech client of ours located in Vancouver. 

This is a fully remote role where you will be collaboratively working with the core development team on various projects. You will be reporting directly to the CTO, taking ownership of the projects and offering guidance to junior members of the team.  

Responsibilities: 

• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions to streamline deployment and ensure high availability and reliability. 
• Manage and maintain cloud infrastructure (AWS) with a focus on security, scalability, and efficiency. 
• Implement security best practices, ensuring compliance with SOC 2 Type 2 requirements and industry standards. 
• Automate infrastructure and workflows using Terraform. 
• Collaborate with development and security teams to improve code deployment, reliability, and operational excellence.  
• Mentor and support junior engineers, helping to grow internal expertise. 

Requirements: 

• 3+ years' hands on experience with Terraform  
• 5+ years of experience in a DevOps, SRE, or Cloud Engineering role. 
• Strong expertise in AWS 
• Proficiency in containerization and orchestration (Kubernetes, EKS, Docker)  
• Strong background in security and compliance, including SOC 2 type 2, IAM, and cloud security best practices.
