Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Estimator to join our growing developer-builder team in New Westminster. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the estimating process for residential high-rise projects, including analyzing construction plans, preparing accurate cost estimates, managing tendering processes, and working closely with project managers, architects, and subcontractors. This role requires an individual with a deep understanding of residential high-rise construction, strong financial acumen, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Pre-Construction Estimating: Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and feasibility studies for residential high-rise construction projects.
• Tendering: Manage the tendering process, including sending out tender documents, analyzing bids, and making recommendations for subcontractor selection.
• Cost Analysis: Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare estimates for labor, material, equipment, and subcontractors.
• Budget Management: Develop and monitor project budgets, ensuring alignment with financial goals and timelines.
• Vendor and Subcontractor Relations: Collaborate with vendors and subcontractors to negotiate prices, terms, and conditions, ensuring cost-effective procurement of materials and services.
• Project Support: Work closely with project managers to ensure estimates align with the project scope and schedule. Provide ongoing cost monitoring and updates throughout the project lifecycle.
• Value Engineering: Provide input and recommendations for cost-saving measures and value engineering opportunities.
• Risk Assessment: Identify and assess potential risks in project costs, timelines, and design changes, providing strategies for mitigation.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all estimates, costs, and correspondence related to the estimation process.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of estimating experience, with a strong focus on residential high-rise construction projects.
• Education: A degree or diploma in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of building codes, construction methods, materials, and best practices for high-rise projects.
• Software: Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Procore, Sage Estimating, PlanSwift) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project).
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
• Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail and the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
• Team Player: Proven ability to work collaboratively with project teams, subcontractors, and clients.
• Organizational Skills: Strong time-management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
