MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a Senior Geologist to join our client in Central, BC.  

Our client, based in Vancouver, Canada, is known for operational efficiency and commitment to environmentally sound and socially responsible development. They are advancing multiple projects in Canada and the United States to sustainably grow their portfolio. With a strategy focused on developing high-quality mineral assets, they are actively seeking qualified applicants to join their team.

Responsibilities: 

• Ensure all team activities adhere to health and safety policies, while supervising and guiding Geologists and technical staff in their daily operations.
• Participate in coaching, mentorship, and evaluation of staff, and prepare technical reports to meet industry and operational requirements.
• Perform reconciliation analysis of resources, control costs related to mine geology activities, and manage the integrity and quality of databases.
• Interact with Mine Engineering and operations teams to maintain production rates and relay information on operating guidelines and compliance regulations.
• Recommend and develop alternative procedures to enhance performance, ensuring compliance with regulations, and support initiatives to understand geological factors impacting production.
• Supervise data collection, build and maintain geological models, manage infill drilling programs, support exploration projects, and participate in grade control and mine to mill improvement initiatives.

Requirements: 

• 5+ years of related experience, preferably in open pit operations, and familiarity with Microsoft Office, Mineplan, Datashed, Leapfrog Geo, and Wenco is a plus.
• Geological experience with porphyry or similar deposit types, including mapping and logging, is beneficial.
• Experience with 3D geological modelling, resource estimation, and supervising others is advantageous.
• Possess strong interdepartmental communication skills and the ability to change and re-prioritize tasks as needed.
• Demonstrate a strong ability to self-learn and work independently or within a group.
• Maintain a valid Class 5 driver’s license.
• Registered or eligible to register as a P.Geo
