An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Project Engineer, Pipelines to join a leading energy provider in British Columbia. This is a growth role within a dynamic team of 15 professionals, reporting directly to the department lead. The position offers significant potential for professional development, including leadership opportunities and the ability to shape the future of the sustainable capital department.

Location: Surrey, BC (Fully Onsite)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead design and construction for sustainable capital projects related to natural gas pipelines.
• Manage multiple smaller projects simultaneously, ranging from $100k to $5M in value.
• Act as the lead project engineer for distribution pipelines and high-pressure systems (up to 700 kPa) in compliance with CSA standards.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers, revisiting and updating specifications as necessary.
• Offer onsite support, handle RFIs from the field, and ensure smooth project execution.
• Conduct feasibility studies, engineering assessments, and detailed design.

Must-Have Qualifications:

• 6-10+ years of engineering experience, including at least 2-3 years on pipeline projects.
• Working knowledge of CSA Z662 and other relevant CSA standards.
• P.Eng designation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Civil Engineering.
• Proven experience in pipeline design and construction.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

• Experience with estimating, distribution systems, and stress analysis.
• Background working for an owner or on behalf of an owner.
• Experience with natural gas utility pipelines (crude oil experience is also considered).
