MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our client, a privately owned builder based in Abbotsford, BC with 25 years of experience specializing in multi-family residential, commercial, and retail projects. This is an opportunity to take full ownership of multi-family wood frame projects valued at $20M+, guiding them from pre-construction through to occupancy while building strong client relationships and mentoring high-performing teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead all phases of project delivery, from design development, budgeting, and scheduling through construction and close-out.
• Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and forecasts; monitor progress and address deviations proactively.
• Ensure compliance with contract documents, building codes, specifications, and company standards.
• Mentor and oversee project coordinators, site superintendents, and other project staff.
• Foster collaboration between office and field teams while leading client, consultant, and subcontractor meetings.
• Oversee project budgets including forecasting, cost control, change orders, and progress claims.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders, ensuring strong communication and trust.
• Promote and uphold safety, quality, and risk management standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive project management experience in construction, with a strong focus on wood frame multi-family projects.
• Proven track record delivering projects valued at $20M+.
• Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent experience.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with project management tools such as MS Project, Project Site, Procore, and Bluebeam.
• Strong knowledge of BC Building Code, municipal permitting processes, and local construction practices.
