Matchbox Consulting Group is currently searching for a Senior Superintendent for a our client, a developer in Vancouver that specializes in wood frame residential projects. This company is looking for a seasoned, polished professional to lead their fledgling construction wing. Our client owns several parcels of land across the Lower Mainland and a strong pipeline of upcoming projects.

You are:

• A veteran construction professional
• A proven leader able to balance multiple projects
• Ready to make the transition from the field to the office
• Able to assemble and lead a strong team of superintendents, foremen, and project managers

Role and Responsibilities

• Managing and supervising all construction site activities
• Providing supervision of construction staff and sub-trade staff and providing safety leadership.
• Maintain the construction schedule and identifying deficiencies or issues.
• Review and negotiate contracts with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders.
• Provide regular updates on project status, including progress reports, budget tracking, and risk management.
• Contributing to a culture of professional project delivery by establishing behavioural guidelines, best practices, and a system of accountability.

Experience and Knowledge

• Demonstrated progressive experience (10+ years) in general contracting as a superintendent or project manager.
• Trade background in carpentry and/or Red Seal Certification is considered an asset.
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Well-developed and adaptable communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
