We’re looking for an experienced Shift Engineer to join a growing operations team based in North Battleford, SK. This full-time role will see you playing a key role in overseeing plant operations from early stages through to full production. You’ll lead a team, support operational excellence, and help cultivate a strong safety culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage your operations team to maintain safe, reliable, and efficient plant performance.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and control plant conditions, maintaining compliance with all health, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with operations, maintenance, engineering, and safety personnel.
  • Direct maintenance work ensuring it meets company standards and procedures.
  • Coach, train, and mentor team members to develop skills and promote continuous improvement.
  • Take charge during emergencies and support emergency response drills.
  • Maintain accurate operational documentation, procedures, and logbooks.
  • Identify operational issues, recommend improvements, and support change management processes.
  • Foster a respectful, professional, and positive team environment.
  • Continually develop your own skills and those of your team.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in SAGD or related heavy oil operations.
  • 2nd Class Power Engineering Certification or equivalent.
  • Experience with steam generation, water treatment, oil treating, de-oiling, and well operations.
  • Familiarity with DeltaV DCS systems is a plus.
  • Knowledge of steam generators, compressors, utilities, and facility drawings (P&IDs).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Willingness to relocate near North Battleford.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Work Environment:

  • 12-hour rotating shifts (7 days on / 7 days off), covering days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Plant-based work setting.
