We are seeking a Professional Engineer to coordinate commissioning and testing activities for electrical transmission station projects across the Lower Mainland. The role involves developing detailed commissioning plans, ensuring outages and resources are properly aligned, and supporting safe, efficient execution of construction and commissioning activities in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and coordinate multi-disciplinary commissioning and test plans for transmission station projects.Ensure all outages, documentation, resources, and permits are in place for successful test execution.

• Act as the primary field engineering contact during construction and commissioning.

• Support testing of electrical and protection & control (P&C) equipment, including transformers, switchgear, and communication systems.

• Review and coordinate inspection and test plans (ITPs) for both factory and site acceptance testing.

• Conduct or coordinate field reviews, and ensure work conforms to approved drawings and standards.

• Liaise with engineering teams and field staff to resolve technical issues and non-conformances.

• Document field observations and contribute to final construction reports

Mandatory Qualifications:

• Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Engineers & Geoscientists BC at the time of submission.

• Valid Permit to Practice (P2P), either individually or through a firm.

• Minimum 8 years of relevant engineering experience.

• Strong experience in commissioning and testing in industrial or utility environments.

• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.

• Experience working with electrical utility systems and transmission station design (12kV to 500kV).

Familiarity with EGBC field review requirements and documentation standards.
 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Field engineering and construction support experience.

• Knowledge of protection & control (P&C) testing and commissioning.

• Experience in fault analysis and investigations.

• Strong coordination and documentation skills.
