Site Superintendent – Light Industrial Construction

Location: Abbotsford, BC | Full-Time, Permanent

You know how to build tilt-ups. You know how to run a site. And you know what a good day’s work looks like.

MatchBox Consulting Group is working with an established, privately owned general contractor to find an experienced Site Superintendent for a light industrial construction project in Abbotsford.

We’re looking for someone who knows their way around a ground-up build, takes safety and schedule seriously, and understands that a successful project depends on getting the trades working together.

You don’t need to be the loudest person on site. You need to know your business, earn the respect of your crews, and make sure the work gets done properly.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Take ownership of daily site operations on a ground-up light industrial construction project.

• Coordinate trades, subcontractors, equipment, materials, and site activities to keep construction moving.

• Manage tilt-up concrete construction, structural work, and subsequent building phases.

• Maintain a safe, organized, productive job site where expectations are clear and accountability matters.

• Keep the project on schedule, anticipate problems, and address issues before they become delays.

• Build strong relationships with trades and subcontractors, earning their buy-in through practical leadership and fair expectations.

• Work closely with project management to coordinate schedules, inspections, quality control, and project milestones.

• Read drawings, understand the details, and ensure the finished work meets specifications.

• Lead by example. Recognize a good day’s work, address poor performance, and take pride in what gets built.

What You Bring

• 7–10 years of progressive construction experience, including time as a Site Superintendent or Site Supervisor with a general contractor.

• Hands-on experience delivering ground-up tilt-up concrete and light industrial buildings.

• A strong understanding of site sequencing, concrete, structural systems, building envelopes, and trade coordination.

• A trades background, particularly in carpentry or concrete, is an asset.

• A practical approach to safety. You take it seriously because people matter, not because there’s a form to complete.

• Strong scheduling skills and the ability to manage competing priorities without losing sight of the bigger picture.

• The confidence to make decisions, solve problems, and run a job site without constant oversight.

• Good communication skills and the ability to get along with trades, consultants, project managers, and clients.

• Comfort with basic site reporting, digital documentation, and construction management tools.
