Tax Specialist

MatchBox Consulting Group is looking for a Tax Specialist. Our client stands as a top developer renowned for their expertise in residential and commercial projects across several Canadian cities, including Vancouver and Toronto.

Responsibilities

• Prepares tax provisions schedules and financial statement disclosure
• Prepares tax and information returns, payments and instalments calculation, reports and maintain the company’s database
• Prepares various other compliance filings
• Prepares and reviews working paper files to support tax filings
• Coordinates with finance department to obtain information and works with external advisors
• Assists Management with projects and implementation of strategies
• Ensures that companies comply with federal, provincial and municipal tax regulations
• Keep up-to-date and shares knowledge with tax changes and industry trends

Requirements

• CPA designated
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or relevant field
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant tax experience
• Enrolment in CICA In-depth Tax Program is an asset
• Attention to detail and accuracy in all areas of work
• Excellent people skills and strong written and verbal communication skills
• Able to multi-task, work well under pressure and meet deadlines
• Competent in the use of Microsoft applications – Excel, Word, Outlook
• Proficient in Corporate TaxPrep and CCH Taxprep Forms
• Past work experience at public practice is preferable
• Good team player, self-motivated and willing to learn
