MatchBox Consulting Group is currently seeking a Senior Technical Architect for a 2- month contract role (with possibility of extension)  37.5 hours per week with a client of ours located in Victoria. This position can work fully remote anywhere in Canada. Start Date is Monday January 5^th/2025

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Technical Architect for a two-month remote contract to support architectural review, guidance, and strategic technical advisory services for data centre environments. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise across multiple infrastructure technology domains and a proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Review proposed and existing architecture designs and assess alignment with required standards and best practices.
• Provide expert advice on all matters related to technical architecture interacting with the clients data centres.
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in one or more of the following domains: backup, virtualization, compute, and storage.
• Offer guidance to service providers, Province team members, and management regarding:
• Best practices and industry standards
• Technology evaluations, market scans, and solution approaches
• Implementation standards, contractual frameworks, and governance processes

• Produce clear, comprehensive architectural documentation, reports, diagrams, and recommendations.
• Communicate technical situations in clear, concise, and non-technical language appropriate for a wide range of stakeholders. Required Experience & Skills
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience within the last 10 years.
  • Strong architecture analysis and design background with experience in enterprise infrastructure environments.
  • Exceptional documentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Hands-on experience with technologies such as:
  • DELL, HP, PowerScale
  • NetBackup
  • OpenShift & container services
  • VMware
  • Oracle
  • Windows & Linux
