MatchBox is urgently seeking an experienced Technical Documentation Specialist for a permanent position for our Vancouver based client. This role can work fully remotely from anywhere across Canada.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Technical Documentation Specialist to join our team and help us elevate how we communicate complex technical concepts to both internal and external audiences. In this fully remote position, you’ll work closely with developers, product managers, and customer success teams to produce clear, concise, and engaging documentation—everything from developer-facing API docs to internal guides and customer knowledge bases.
You’re someone who can translate technical speak into human-friendly language, and you know how to make documentation a powerful tool that drives user success and internal efficiency.

What You’ll Do
 

• Create and maintain clear, user-friendly documentation for developers, customers, and internal teams.
• Develop API documentation that enables developers to understand and effectively implement our services.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and customer experience teams to gather source content and technical details.
• Own and manage the documentation lifecycle—from drafting and editing to publishing and continuous updates.
• Build and maintain internal knowledge bases and guides to improve onboarding and cross-functional knowledge sharing.
• Test and validate APIs and product features to ensure accurate documentation.
• Continuously improve documentation standards and processes to support scale and quality.

What We’re Looking For
 

• 3–5 years of experience in technical writing, software documentation, or similar roles.
• Strong understanding of APIs, web services, and software development concepts.
• Experience with documentation tools and platforms (e.g., Swagger/OpenAPI, Postman, Markdown, Confluence, Git).
• Proven ability to write for both technical audiences (developers, engineers) and non-technical users (customers, support teams).
• Excellent communication skills—you can translate technical jargon into clear, useful content.
• Attention to detail, ability to manage multiple documentation projects at once.
• Comfortable working remotely and collaborating with distributed teams across time zones.

Nice to Have
 

• Experience in SaaS or cloud-based platforms.
• Familiarity with design thinking and user-centered content development.
• Knowledge of version control systems like Git/GitHub.
• Basic coding knowledge (e.g., Python, JavaScript) to interact with APIs or sample code.
