Technical Writer

MatchBox Consulting Group is urgently searching for a Technical Writer for a permanent role at one of our manufacturing clients. This role can either be based in Victoria BC or Langley BC. The role is 3 days in office and 2 days on site. 

Primary responsibilities:
 

• Maintain and update software online help systems
• Maintain and update hardware installation and operation manuals
• Create manuals for new products
• Create other technical documentation as required
• Mange the internal document library in SharePoint
• Create informational and instructional presentations and videos

Additional responsibilities
 

• Work with other teams to develop and maintain training materials
• Create and modify screenshots and other images for documentation
• Work with a graphic designer for more complex illustrations
• Provide editing and proofreading support for other teams
• Prepare English content for translation and manage the translation process

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities
 

• MadCap Flare (bonus if have experience with Lingo as well)
• MS Word
• MS PowerPoint
• Basic to intermediate image editing skills (experience with Photoshop or GIMP)
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong teamwork focus
• Ability to work independently

Nice to have
 

• Understanding of localization requirements and practices
• Camtasia
• SharePoint
• Azure AI Speech Studio
