On behalf of our client, Matchbox is seeking a Senior Civil Estimator for a leading general contracting firm specializing in Heavy Civil, Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional (ICI) and residential construction projects. Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experience Senior Civil Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a variety of heavy civil projects. This role requires a strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards, as well as excellent analytical and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates for ICI and residential construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
• Bid Preparation: Develop and submit comprehensive bid proposals in response to RFPs (Request for Proposals) and RFQs (Request for Quotations).
• Scope Review: Analyze project plans, specifications, and requirements to identify and clarify project scope and deliverables.
• Quantity Takeoffs: Perform accurate quantity takeoffs using industry-standard software and tools.
• Cost Analysis: Research and analyze historical data, unit prices, and market trends to support cost estimates.
• Vendor and Subcontractor Relations: Solicit and review quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and compliance with project specifications.
• Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure accurate and realistic project estimates.
• Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals and expectations.
• Documentation: Maintain organized records of estimates, proposals, and related documents for future reference and analysis.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry trends, advancements in construction technology, and best practices to continuously improve the estimating process.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in construction estimating, specifically within the ICI and residential sectors.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, ProEst, PlanSwift) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project).
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, codes, and regulations.
• Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
• Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities, with the capability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
• Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, clients, and subcontractors.
