MatchBox Consulting Group is looking for a Intermediate Mechanical Engineer in Calgary. Our client is an industry leading mechanical engineering consulting firm. Over the past 25+ years, our client has leveraged their expertise in mechanical design and project management to deliver solutions for HVAC, plumbing and drainage, fire protection systems, and energy modelling projects located across Canada and California.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead detailed design of projects, delegate tasks, and supervise mechanical designers.
• Provide technical guidance to clients and project sub-consultants, attend design meetings, and perform construction site reviews.
• Mentor and review work of Mechanical Designers and Engineers, ensuring quality and adherence to standards.
• Analyze design proposals, select mechanical equipment, and prepare schematic design and construction drawings.
• Coordinate mechanical systems with other disciplines, determine project resources, and assist with contract administration for design changes.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Mechanical Engineering degree with 5-10 years’ P. Eng. experience.
• Comprehensive understanding of building systems and ability to interpret construction drawings.
• Proficiency in current codes and standards, excellent written skills, and software proficiency.
• Understanding of project financials and ability to schedule, mentor, and manage project teams.
