MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Quality and Commissioning Engineer for an exciting and high-profile project in Vancouver, BC. This role will support the project teams and play a critical part in managing both the commissioning process and ensuring that quality standards are maintained throughout the project.

The successful candidate will work closely with subtrades, commissioning stakeholders, and project management to develop and execute a comprehensive commissioning plan.

Responsibilities:

  • Commissioning Plan Management: Develop and oversee the execution of a detailed commissioning plan, ensuring alignment with project goals and specifications.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement and manage quality assurance processes to ensure all work meets required standards and specifications.
  • Coordination: Serve as the primary point of contact between the construction management team, subtrades, clients’ commissioning agents, and consultants for commissioning and quality-related matters.
  • Scheduling: Collaborate with project teams to integrate commissioning and quality assurance activities into the overall project schedule.
  • Documentation: Ensure all commissioning and quality documentation is complete, accurate, and meets the necessary standards.
  • Testing and Verification: Supervise and coordinate the testing of systems, equipment, and materials to confirm compliance with required performance and quality criteria.
  • Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve issues or discrepancies during the commissioning and quality assurance processes, working with relevant stakeholders.
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates and detailed reports on commissioning and quality status to project management and clients.
  • Compliance: Ensure all commissioning and quality activities comply with local regulations, industry standards, and project requirements.
  • Training: Assist in training the client’s operations and maintenance staff as required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience:
    • Canadian Commercial, Industrial, Institutional, and/or Recreational construction experience.
    • 3-5 years of experience in commissioning and quality assurance, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related engineering field.
  • Skills:
    • Strong understanding of commissioning and quality assurance processes and best practices.
    • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
    • Proficiency in relevant software and tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Commissioning (e.g., CCP, QCxP) or Quality Management (e.g., CQM).
  • Experience working on large-scale construction projects.
  • Familiarity with LEED or other sustainability certifications.
