MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a Construction Manager for one of Vancouver’s most exciting, award-winning developer-builders. With over 30 years of experience, our client is a diversified real estate construction, development, and management company who specializes in residential, commercial, industrial, and hotel developments across North America.

The successful Construction Manager will work on a Master Plan community in Tsawwassen composed of  multi-family wood frame homes at the outset. Ideal candidates will possess over 5 years of experience in project management or coordination within BC’s construction industry with a developer or general contractor, experience working on wood frame projects, and demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and drive. Responsibilities:

• Project Management: Start-up and tendering, budgeting, schedule, execution and close out of largescale construction projects
• Manage the external consultant team including architects, engineers, etc
• Manage and coordinate all site visits, inspections, permits, approvals, as required
• Working with the Site Superintendent on scheduling and sequencing trades, coordinating inspections and site visits, and ensuring smooth operations on site.
• Lead the project consultant meetings
• Work with the HSE Manager on safety requirements, ensuring all WorkSafe requirements are met and/or exceeded
• Work closely and report to senior executive management on forecasting for milestones, completions dates, budget adherence
• Value engineering of construction processes and elements

Requirements: (dependent on Construction Coordinator or Manager level)

• 5+ years of progressive experience within project coordination/management, preferably in British Columbia, with a general contractor or developer
• Experience in wood frame residential buildings construction is a firm requirement
• Post-secondary education in Construction Management, engineering, or a related field from an accredited post-secondary institution
• Possession of a Red Seal, Gold Seal, and/or site experience is a major asset
• Excellent communication skills – both oral and written
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and a hunger for growth
• Excellent organizational skills and a high degree of professionalism
