MatchBox Consulting Group is looking for a Permitting Specialist. This role offers the chance to take the lead on key regulatory and environmental permitting processes for a high-profile LNG project in British Columbia.
You’ll work on diverse permits at municipal, provincial, and federal levels, gaining hands-on experience with marine and land-based approvals. With a small, close-knit team, you’ll have the freedom to wear many hats, take initiative, and directly contribute to the project's success.
Requirements
- Lead and manage regulatory permit applications at all government levels.
- Collaborate with internal teams, regulators, and Indigenous Groups on permitting strategies.
- Develop and implement environmental management plans for construction and operations.
- Ensure compliance with permits and regulatory commitments.
- Identify permitting risks and create mitigation strategies
Responsibilities
- Degree in environmental science or a related field, with around 5+ years of experience in permitting (open to related industries).
- Familiarity with BC permitting is preferred; experience in municipal or marine is a bonus.
- Ability to manage compliance and work with environmental consultants.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Comfortable with basic software like Office 365 and MS Project
