MatchBox Consulting Group is proud to be posting on behalf of our client, a well-established General Contractor from the Lower Mainland, who is expanding operations with a new office in Victoria, BC, opening in January 2024. We are seeking an experienced and well-connected Vancouver Island Operations Manager to lead this exciting new venture.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the establishment and daily operations of the new Victoria office.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to drive business growth and project success on Vancouver Island.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders within the Vancouver Island construction market.
• Ensure all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Lead and mentor a team of project managers, site supervisors, and administrative staff.
• Monitor project progress, conduct regular site visits, and ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
• Prepare and present regular operational reports to senior management.
• Identify new business opportunities and contribute to the expansion of the company’s presence on Vancouver Island.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in the construction industry, with at least 5 years in a management role.
• Strong network and established connections within the Vancouver Island construction market.
• Proven track record of successfully managing multiple construction projects simultaneously.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
• Ability to develop and implement strategic plans to drive business growth.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
