Project Accountant – Commercial and Multi-Family Construction

Our client, a fast-growing construction company in Abbotsford, BC, is looking for a Project Accountant to join their dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on high-profile projects in a collaborative environment with excellent growth potential, competitive compensation ($75,000–$85,000), and profit-sharing incentives.

Responsibilities

• Manage financial aspects of multiple construction projects, including budgets, forecasts, and progress billings.
• Perform cost control and variance analysis, ensuring financial accuracy and alignment with project goals.
• Process and reconcile invoices, purchase orders, and subcontractor payments.
• Collaborate with project managers and accounting teams to ensure seamless integration of project finances.
• Track accounts receivable, follow up on payments, and generate financial reports for management.

Requirements

• Post-secondary diploma or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of construction accounting experience, preferably in commercial and multi-family sectors.
• Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, complex formulas) and familiarity with construction software (e.g., ProjectSite, Procore).
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
