Project Manager / Estimator
Power Quality & Preventive Maintenance
Burnaby, BC
MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a Project Manager / Estimator on behalf of a highly respected electrical contractor serving complex infrastructure and institutional clients across British Columbia.
This role sits within a specialized Power Quality and Preventive Maintenance group that works directly with long-term clients to keep critical electrical systems operating safely and reliably. Rather than chasing one-off construction tenders, this team manages ongoing technical service work, maintenance programs, and system upgrades across facilities such as hospitals, campuses, transportation infrastructure, and major commercial assets.
For electrical professionals who enjoy technical problem solving, client relationships, and stable project portfolios, this role offers a unique alternative to traditional construction PM roles.
Why This Role Appeals to Experienced Electrical PMs
Many electrical project managers spend most of their time chasing tenders, fighting compressed margins, and dealing with fragmented subcontractor environments.
This position offers something different:
-
Long-term client relationships rather than one-off projects
-
Technical electrical work focused on power quality and system reliability
-
Predictable service and maintenance pipelines
-
High-trust relationships with institutional and industrial clients
-
A strong internal support team of service electricians and coordinators
-
The opportunity to build deep expertise in electrical system performance
If you enjoy understanding how electrical systems perform in the real world — and building relationships with the people responsible for keeping those systems running — this role can be extremely rewarding.

Responsibilities
-
Identify and pursue new service and maintenance opportunities
-
Build long-term relationships with clients, consultants, and suppliers
-
Review contracts and manage project risk

-

-
Electrical Trade Certificate, Electrical Engineering Degree, or Electrical Technologist Diploma
