Matchbox Consulting Group is partnering with a large multinational, NYSE-listed building materials and infrastructure solutions company looking for an Electrical Maintenance Coordinator.

You’ll be joining the Richmond, BC plant as the Electrical Maintenance Coordinator — a senior technical role responsible for ensuring all electrical, instrumentation, and automation work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. You’ll own the reliability of complex heavy industrial equipment and lead a unionized trades team.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs for plant electrical and automation systems.
- Manage daily maintenance activities and major shutdowns, coordinating internal teams and third-party contractors.
- Improve plant reliability through FMEA and RCA methodologies; identify critical spare parts and optimize stock levels.
- Schedule corrective actions for instrumentation and automation equipment to minimize unplanned downtime.
- Support the Maintenance Manager in elaborating and controlling the maintenance budget.
- Supervise the quality of work performed by maintenance electricians and contractors in the field.
- Lead training and development programs to build technical competencies within the electrical maintenance team.
- Champion new technologies to optimize maintenance costs and improve equipment conditions.
- Promote and model a strong health, safety, and environmental culture at all times.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field, or a background in Electrical/Mechanical Trades
- 3–5 years of maintenance experience in cement or similar heavy industrial manufacturing (kilns, rotating ball mills, high-voltage systems, control systems, etc.).
- Proven track record managing or supervising unionized trades workers.
- Strong working knowledge of motors, drives, power systems, and instrumentation.
- Proficiency in SAP (PM, MM, PS), Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and PLC troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with industrial safety techniques and OH&S regulations.
- SMRP membership is an asset.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills; ability to manage effectively under pressure.
