MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking an Intermediate Hydrogeologist for our client, a well-established consulting firm with a strong presence in natural resources and infrastructure projects across North America.

This role offers the opportunity to work on technically complex hydrogeological projects in remote and challenging environments, supporting projects from early-stage development through to operations and closure. The successful candidate will join a collaborative, multidisciplinary team and contribute to both field programs and office-based analysis.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and execute hydrogeological field programs, including drilling and instrumentation
• Supervise drilling and install deep groundwater monitoring systems
• Conduct aquifer testing and analyze hydrogeological data
• Develop conceptual groundwater models and support water balance assessments
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary technical teams
• Prepare technical reports and client deliverables
• Support project coordination and mentor junior staff
• Travel to remote project sites as required

Requirements:

• Undergraduate degree in geology, geological/civil engineering, physical geography, or related field
• 5+ years of relevant experience (3+ considered if entirely in consulting)
• Experience working on resource-based or large-scale infrastructure projects
• Professional designation (P.Geo, GIT, P.Eng, or EIT)
• Experience with groundwater monitoring systems and aquifer testing
• Strong technical writing and communication skills
• Ability to work independently in field environments with variable conditions
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel

Preferred:

• Master’s degree or post-graduate specialization in hydrogeology or related discipline
• Experience with bedrock hydrogeology and conceptual model development
• Familiarity with advanced field testing methods and instrumentation
• Consulting experience on complex, multidisciplinary projects
