About the Role

MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a Buyer to join a leading North American building materials organization. This is a permanent, full-time, on-site role in Surrey, BC, supporting a highly dynamic multi-site operation spanning multiple product lines and commodities.

Reporting to Procurement Manager, the Buyer will play a key role in supporting purchase-to-pay activities, stakeholder coordination, and sourcing support across a complex operational network. This is a high-growth entry point into procurement, designed for individuals who want to build a long-term career in supply chain and commercial operations—not remain in transactional buying.

What You’ll Do

• Act as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders across multiple operational sites
• Review requisitions, create purchase orders, and ensure accuracy and compliance with procurement policies
• Support RFQs, supplier coordination, and basic negotiation of pricing and terms
• Manage invoice exceptions, parked invoices, and purchase order discrepancies
• Support vendor setup changes, extensions, and procurement system updates through appropriate channels
• Assist in identifying opportunities to improve procurement processes, cost efficiency, and compliance
• Provide data support and reporting input for procurement leadership and operational decision-making

What We’re Looking For (Must-Haves)

• 1+ year of experience in procurement, purchasing, logistics, or supply chain (co-op experience considered for strong new grads)
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with internal stakeholders and site teams
• A curious, proactive, and growth-oriented mindset with the ability to think beyond transactional tasks
• Exposure to construction, manufacturing, mining, or similarly complex operational environments is an asset
• Strong MS Excel skills and general proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-site environment with competing priorities
• Interest in building a long-term career in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain leadership

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience using SAP or a similar ERP system
• Exposure to Power BI, reporting, or data analysis tools
• Experience working with procurement policies, purchasing workflows, or basic sourcing activities
