MatchBox Consulting Group is recruiting for a Procurement Manager to support operations within a heavy industrial manufacturing environment in Exshaw, Alberta.

This role will lead procurement activities at the plant level, focusing on sourcing, supplier management, and operational procurement execution. The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders and category managers to ensure procurement strategies are effectively implemented and aligned with business needs.

This position is well suited to a hands-on procurement professional with experience in industrial or manufacturing environments who is comfortable working in a fully onsite, operations-driven setting.

Responsibilities

• Implement procurement strategies in collaboration with category managers and business stakeholders
• Manage day-to-day procurement of goods and services to meet cost, quality, and delivery objectives
• Lead supplier sourcing, negotiation, and onboarding activities
• Oversee contract implementation and ensure compliance with corporate standards
• Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to support operational needs
• Identify opportunities to optimize spend, reduce risk, and improve procurement processes
• Support inventory, warehouse coordination, and material availability for plant operations
• Provide support during critical situations, including urgent material or parts requirements
• Lead and support procurement team members and coordinate with cross-functional teams
• Promote and ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and operational standards

Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years of procurement experience, including sourcing, category management, or operations
• Experience working in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment
• Strong knowledge of supply chain management, procurement strategies, and contract execution
• Proven negotiation skills with the ability to drive cost savings and supplier performance
• Strong initiative and ability to work proactively in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines under pressure
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital tools
• Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
