Senior BI Developer

Our client is looking for a Senior BI Developer to develop enterprise analytics and data solutions and provide technical support for the enterprise data management platform. 

Full time permanent position. The successful candidate must obtain and maintain a valid Marine Transportation Security Clearance as this position is required to access restricted areas/information as defined by the Marine Transportation Security Regulations.

Must have: 

• Degree in IT or an acceptable degree in a related field 
• 5+ years of BI development experience in an enterprise environment 
• Strong experience with Power BI and MS Fabric.
• End-to-end BI development experience, including:
  • Data ingestion and ETL/ELT processes.
  • Data warehousing.
  • Data modelling.
  • Dashboard and report development.
• Experience building dashboards for business functions and executive audiences.
• Ability to translate data into meaningful business stories and actionable insights.
• Experience working directly with business stakeholders, clients, vendors, or senior management.

Nice to have: 

• Knowledge of data warehousing, MS Purview, metadata mgmt. (MDM), data governance, data quality frameworks.
• CDMP certification.
• Relevant Microsoft certifications related to data engineering, analytics, or BI.
• Experience in implementing enterprise data governance framework.
• Cloud architecture/developer certifications (e.g. Azure or AWS).
• Experience with predictive analytics and ML-enabled data management, data lakes, big data, real time/ near real time analytics and IoT Integration projects.

Responsibilities: 

• Develops, enhances and supports complex data solutions, tools and automations, partnering closely with internal business units and technical teams
• Involves working on multiple enterprise initiatives focused on the implementation of new or enhanced systems, solutions and processes.
• Translates business requirements into technical specifications and implements secure, scalable, and compliant data and analytics solutions
