Our client is a well-established, family-owned civil contractor based in Squamish, BC, with a strong reputation built over decades of repeat clients and referrals. With steady work ahead and continued growth, they are looking to add a Civil Estimator to their team on a long-term basis.

This is an opportunity for an estimator with solid civil construction knowledge to take ownership of competitive tenders, work closely with clients and suppliers, and contribute to the continued growth of an established contractor.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Prepare accurate full-cost estimates and complete tender submissions for civil construction projects.
• Review tender documents, specifications, drawings, and project requirements to establish scope and estimating requirements.
• Complete detailed quantity take-offs and calculate material requirements.
• Develop unit costs, labour rates, productivity factors, equipment costs, and location-specific considerations.
• Obtain and evaluate competitive pricing from suppliers, subcontractors, and equipment providers.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as required to understand project scope and conditions.
• Consult with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to clarify scope and pricing.
• Support the development of competitive bids while maintaining accuracy and commercial awareness.

What You Bring

• 5+ years of construction industry experience, preferably within civil/heavy civil construction.
• 1+ year of civil estimating experience.
• Strong ability to read and interpret civil drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
• Solid understanding of earthworks, civil construction procedures, and heavy civil practices.
• Working knowledge of MMCD and municipal civil construction standards.
• Proficiency with Excel and Bluebeam.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and professional fluency in English.
• Valid driver's licence.
• Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or a related discipline is preferred.
