MatchBox's Vancouver based client is seeking a Microsoft Sentinel Specialist – Azure Subscription Migration for a part-time contract (10-15 hours per week) to start ASAP. This role can be fully remote anywhere in Canada 

Microsoft Sentinel Specialist – Azure Subscription Migration

About the Role
We're looking for a part-time Microsoft Sentinel specialist to support the migration and rebuild of an existing Sentinel implementation following a recent Azure landing zone modernization. The current Sentinel deployment sits in a legacy subscription and must be migrated, rebuilt, and reconfigured to align with the new landing zone architecture.
The work stays within the same Azure tenant, with services moving between subscriptions rather than across tenants. The original implementation was completed by a third-party vendor, and as-built documentation is available to support planning and execution.
You'll work closely with a delivery team that includes a Service Delivery Manager, Cloud Architect, and Cloud Operations staff.
Responsibilities

• Review the existing as-built documentation and validate the current Sentinel configuration
• Develop a migration and rebuild approach, including an implementation plan
• Support the rebuild, migration, and reconfiguration of Sentinel in the new Azure subscriptions
• Engage with the client's SecOps team during implementation
• Validate the final configuration and confirm operational and monitoring requirements are met
• Provide knowledge transfer and handover

Estimated Effort Breakdown

• 2 days: Current environment review and analysis
• 1 day: Migration planning and like-for-like rebuild design
• 5 days: Implementation, migration, and SecOps engagement
• 1 day: Validation and testing
• 1 day: Knowledge transfer and handover

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on experience with Microsoft Sentinel design, deployment, and configuration
• Experience with Azure environments, including subscription-level migrations and landing zone architectures
• Ability to interpret as-built documentation and validate existing configurations
• Experience working with SecOps teams and meeting monitoring and operational requirements
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in a part-time capacity
