On behalf of our clients, Matchbox Consulting is seeking a CSO to join our client full-time permanent employee. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to have stability and the ability to forecast what their coming months of work will look like and leave the stress and unknown of temporary contract work behind.

As the CSO you will support the site and office team dedicated to your assigned project on the implementation, oversight, and promotion of safety awareness.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct site safety orientations ensuring that new workers to the site have been educated on company safety protocols, procedures and responsibilities.
• Conduct daily safety inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with local, provincial and federal safety regulations.
• Participate and or lead toolbox talks on site with corporate employees and sub contractors while providing continuous support to the site superintendent in trades meetings.
• Conduct incident and accident investigations in coordination with the Corp H&S Manager. Maintain records of safety-related incidents and actions taken.
• Ensure site safety equipment and material is stocked and maintained.
• Advocate for safety throughout the job site to ensure other workers understand the importance.

Job Requirements:

• Construction Safety Officer (CSO) certification required.
• Occupational First Aid Level 2 required.
• Knowledge and understanding of WorkSafe BC Regulations.
• Strong organizational and people skills, ability to prioritize tasks.
• Ability and confidence to instill core safety values internally and to trade contractors.
