MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a Junior Contract Analyst for a 6-month contract opportunity in Calgary, AB, with potential for extension.
This is a hands-on contract renewal role focused primarily on software licensing and technology-related agreements with existing vendors. The successful candidate will manage a high volume of concurrent renewals, working in SAP and Ariba to maintain contract and supplier information, support purchase order funding, coordinate with internal stakeholders, and complete renewal negotiations and administration.
This is an execution-focused position rather than a strategic sourcing or net-new RFP role. It is well suited to someone with a strong general supply chain background who enjoys managing deadlines, working collaboratively with stakeholders, and independently driving contracts through completion.
Location: Calgary, AB
Job Type: 6-month contract with potential extension
Schedule: 40 hours/week; hybrid with Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday onsite and Wednesday and Friday remote
Responsibilities
-
Manage approximately 30–40 concurrent contract renewals with established technology and service vendors.
-
Coordinate software licensing, IT professional services, telecom, and other Information Services contract renewals.
-
Use SAP and Ariba for supplier setup, contract administration, purchase order funding, and maintaining accurate vendor and contract information.
-
Coordinate renewal requirements with internal business partners and contract stakeholders.
-
Negotiate and administer renewal terms with existing vendors.
-
Track renewal dates, priorities, risks, approvals, and outstanding actions to ensure agreements are completed on schedule.
-
Proactively communicate potential delays or risks before they impact renewal deadlines.
-
Work collaboratively with internal teams to understand contract requirements before independently managing assigned renewals through completion.
-
Provide information and input to teams responsible for broader sourcing and contracting strategy.
-
Support occasional presentations or approval discussions for agreements requiring additional management review.
Qualifications
-
3+ years of experience in supply chain, procurement, contract administration, or a related area.
-
University degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
-
Experience managing contract renewals or negotiations with existing vendors.
-
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a high volume of active contracts and competing deadlines.
-
Strong written and verbal communication skills with a proactive approach to identifying and escalating issues.
-
Able to work effectively both independently and collaboratively with business partners and vendors.
-
Eligible to work in Canada without employer sponsorship.
Must-Haves
-
Hands-on professional experience using SAP and Ariba.
-
Experience with supplier setup, contract or purchase order administration, or contract renewal activities.
-
Experience negotiating or administering renewals with existing vendors.
-
Ability to manage numerous concurrent renewal cycles in a deadline-driven environment.
-
Demonstrated ability to communicate risks and delays proactively.
-
Ability to work onsite in Calgary every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.
Nice-to-Haves
-
Experience with software licensing, SaaS, cloud, or other technology-related vendor agreements.
-
Familiarity with Power BI.
-
Experience working with a broad range of enterprise software or technology vendors.
