Matchbox Consulting Group is seeking a Controller. Our client is a leading has been building in the lower mainland of British Columbia for 60+ years. They have established a reputation for quality workmanship, performance and fairness that is admired and acknowledged by the industry.
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare and present accurate financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Develop and manage the annual budget, forecasting future financial performance.
- Ensure compliance with regulations and file tax returns as needed.
- Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and provide actionable insights to management.
- Manage financial audits and coordinate with external auditors for annual audits.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
- Assist in project cost management for construction and real estate development projects, including tracking budgets, expenses, and progress.
- Collaborate with senior management to evaluate financial risks and opportunities for growth.
- Provide support for strategic business planning, financial modeling, and investment analysis
Requirements
- CPA designation
- 5+ years experience in senior accounting roles.
- Previous construction related accounting experience.
