Our Ontario client is looking for a Data Analyst to help transform field data into meaningful insights that improve decision-making.
This is a full-time perm position. 5 days/week onsite in Newmarket, ON. You will be getting paid hourly. Overtime (Remote) will be expected and compensated.
Reporting to the Lead Data Analyst, you will be responsible for managing data generated through their proprietary mobile applications, ensuring data quality, developing analytics and reporting tools, and supporting continuous improvements to their data environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage, validate, and analyze data collected through the proprietary field reporting platform.
- Design, develop, and maintain reports, dashboards, and data visualizations for both internal teams and utility clients.
- Perform quality assurance on incoming datasets and investigate data inconsistencies or anomalies.
- Utilize strong analytical analysis, using excel and other methods (excel capabilities are a requirement).
- Maintain and optimize reporting databases, data sources, security, and metadata.
- Troubleshoot reporting issues and implement improvements to enhance data quality and reporting performance.
- Develop and automate data cleansing, validation, and reporting processes.
- Collaborate with software developers, project managers, and clients to understand reporting requirements and implement data solutions.
- Prepare data extracts and support integrations with external systems, including GIS and enterprise databases.
- Train internal staff and clients on reporting tools and dashboard functionality.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to automate manual processes and improve reporting efficiency.
Must have:
- Experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar analytical role.
- Experience working with large datasets and relational databases.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas (e.g., XLOOKUP, TEXTJOIN, COUNTIFS), PivotTables, and VBA.
- Experience with SQL and database querying.
Nice to have:
- Experience with Python, R, Power BI, or other data analysis and visualization tools
- Familiarity with SharePoint and Microsoft 365 environments
