MatchBox Consulting Group is currently seeking a Data Governance Specialist for a 7 month contract role with a client of ours located in Vancouver.

Responsibilities:
 

• Manage and optimize the Microsoft Purview environment, including configuration, system health monitoring, and troubleshooting across Databricks and Power BI.
• Automated scanning and classification of the data estate to identify sensitive information, map lineage, and implement secure access workflows via Entra/AD.
• Maintain audit trails and records of processing for compliance, while creating training materials to help staff navigate Purview features

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of direct experience in configuring Purview in a large enterprise environment, preferably in a retail environment.
• Good understanding of data governance, compliance, and data protection policies and principles including interpreting, applying, and enforcing regulatory and corporate requirements.
• Strong interpersonal skills with oral and written communication skills, including public speaking, including demonstrated ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships, can communicate complex issues to broad audiences.
• Relevant certifications in Microsoft Purview are a plus.
