Distribution Senior Engineer

We are seeking an experienced DASSI Senior Engineer to support strategies and initiatives related to the planning and sustainment of electrical distribution assets. The successful candidate will bring a deep understanding of overhead and underground electric utility distribution systems and play a key role in driving performance, reliability, and innovation across asset management programs.

Location: Remote (Candidates must be based in British Columbia)

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement asset sustainment strategies for distribution systems operating at or below 35kV.
• Analyze equipment performance, monitor end-of-life trends, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Lead the development and optimization of maintenance standards, business rules, and engineering practices.
• Conduct technical research, statistical analysis, and risk evaluations to support strategic decision-making.
• Contribute to business cases and investment justifications for key programs and initiatives.
• Act as a subject matter expert in audits, vendor interactions, and cross-functional committees.

Requirements:

• Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC), including a Permit to Practice.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, specifically in distribution systems.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering from a Canadian-recognized institution (Power Engineering preferred).
• Proven expertise in lifecycle asset management and reliability-centered maintenance.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting while maintaining strong collaboration with distributed teams.

Additional Qualifications:

• Familiarity with CAD systems, engineering standards, and design/analysis software.
• Background in performance metrics, change management, and continuous improvement.
• Willingness to travel within the province as required.
