MatchBox Consulting Group is currently seeking a qualified Electrical Engineer for a 1-year contract with one of BC’s largest electrical and utilities providers. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a leading company in the sector, contributing to impactful and large-scale projects. The role is based in Burnaby, BC, with a blend of in-office and site-based responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

• Provide electrical engineering support across various projects, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
• Assist in the design, analysis, and implementation of electrical systems for utility operations, including transmission lines and substations.
• Develop engineering deliverables, such as design reports, proposals, specifications, and calculations.
• Provide technical guidance and support from conceptual design through to testing and commissioning.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective coordination and project execution.
• Conduct field reviews and offer on-site construction support to ensure design compliance.
• Resolve complex engineering issues and help ensure project milestones are met on time and within budget.

Requirements:
Must haves:

• A minimum of 4 years of progressive and comprehensive engineering experience
• University graduate in applied science or engineering
• Must possess a P.Eng designation and be able to obtain a permit to practice on offer
• Class 5 drivers license required
• Excellent communication skills, including writing
• Must be able to come to office

Nice to haves:

• Previous experience with a utility
• Experience with telecom and/or protection and control projects
• Experience with transmission lines projects
• Able to understand the interactions and priorities required to deliver multi-discipline projects
