About the Opportunity
MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking an experienced Electrical Service Department Manager on behalf of our client, a well-established and growing electrical contractor based in Vancouver.
This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing and expanding the company’s commercial electrical service division. You will manage daily operations, lead a team of field technicians, and play a critical role in driving efficiency, customer satisfaction, and long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Oversee daily service operations including scheduling, dispatch, and execution of service work
- Ensure timely completion of service calls, maintenance, and small projects
- Monitor job progress, costs, and overall department performance
- Develop and implement processes to improve workflow and productivity
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of electricians, technicians, and support staff
- Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews
- Promote a strong safety culture and positive work environment
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for key service clients
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to drive repeat business
- Resolve service-related issues and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
Financial & Business Performance
- Manage departmental budgets, forecasting, and KPIs
- Review estimates, proposals, and invoices for accuracy and profitability
- Identify opportunities to grow service revenue and improve margins
Business Development
- Support sales initiatives through identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities
- Develop and maintain service agreements and long-term contracts
- Collaborate with internal teams to secure new work
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all work aligns with applicable codes, regulations, and company standards
- Enforce safety policies and conduct regular site inspections
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in commercial electrical service
- Proven leadership experience managing teams in a service environment
- Strong knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and safety standards
- Experience with service operations, scheduling, and client management
- Solid understanding of job costing, budgeting, and performance metrics
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive base salary: $120,000 – $130,000
