MatchBox Consulting Group is looking for an Environmental Services Lead in Edmonton, AB. Our client is a comprehensive consulting firm providing engineering and land services. With a track record spanning various projects in Canada, their involvement extends from planning and design to construction management, showcasing a shared passion for community infrastructure.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Partner with the Environmental Services Lead in Calgary to effectively lead and manage environmental services, aligning them with project needs and identifying expansion opportunities for both the team and potential projects.

• Secure environmental regulatory approvals for a diverse range of projects, with a specific focus on our clients’ offices in Edmonton and other northern locations.

• Recognize and address potential regulatory challenges, developing strategic solutions to navigate and overcome obstacles.

• Cultivate strong relationships with stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and both internal and external clients to ensure effective collaboration and project success.

• Collaborate with the Calgary team to coordinate resources and teams, ensuring efficient project execution, and promoting inter-departmental collaboration for seamless project delivery.

REQUIREMENTS:

• An undergraduate or graduate degree in environmental science, biology, or a related field.
• 2+ years of field experience related to biophysical assessments such as vegetation, wetlands, fisheries and/or wildlife assessments. 
• Experience in regulatory environments – Public lands, Alberta water act etc.
• Any experience successfully managing internal projects, ensuring environmental compliance.
• Willing to work a role that is 90% in the field.
