Matchbox Consulting Group is partnering with one of Canada’s most prominent real estate developers, known for delivering landmark high-rise communities that have helped shape Vancouver’s skyline. With an unmatched pipeline of large-scale developments and long-term land holdings across the city, this organization is seeking a Senior Estimator (High-Rise Construction) to join their downtown Vancouver team.

This opportunity is best suited for a senior-level estimator (5–15+ years of experience) with strong high-rise residential experience who is looking to step into a long-term, career-defining role with one of the most active developers in the market.

The Role

As a Senior Estimator, you will play a key role in the pre-construction team, responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and supporting project planning across a portfolio of high-rise developments. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across development, construction, and design to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and cost-effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for high-rise construction projects, including labour, materials, and equipment

• Review drawings, specifications, and project documentation to develop accurate budgets and cost plans

• Analyze subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure competitiveness and alignment with project requirements

• Support project planning through budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis at various stages

• Conduct risk analysis and identify cost-saving opportunities through value engineering

• Track and analyze historical cost data to improve future estimating accuracy

• Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants

• Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams including development, design, and construction

• Monitor project costs and provide input on cost control and variance management

Qualifications & Experience

• 5–15+ years of experience in construction estimating, with a strong focus on high-rise residential projects

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline

• Strong knowledge of local construction practices, building codes, and high-rise methodologies

• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office tools

• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination abilities
