General Foreman – Wood

On behalf of our client Matchbox Consulting is seeking a General Foreman with multifamily woodframe construction experience. 

About the Role:

As a General Foreman, you will play a crucial role in the execution of ground-oriented construction projects in Maple Ridge. Your involvement will be pivotal in ensuring the project’s success, with a wide array of responsibilities that include:

• Leading and managing aspects of the construction process, guaranteeing completion within the allocated time and budget.
• Guiding a skilled team, including supervisors and carpenters, to enhance production efficiency.
• Orchestrating the efforts of tradespeople and suppliers, ensuring the smooth progression of tasks.
• Overseeing project schedules and making necessary adjustments to meet objectives.
• Monitoring the procurement and utilization of materials such as lumber and concrete.
• Collaborating with professionals and municipal authorities to secure all required inspections and approvals.
• Upholding the integrity of construction plans, specifications, and compliance with relevant codes and bylaws.
• Liaising with architects, engineers, and other key stakeholders to align project outcomes with specifications.
• Enforcing safe work practices among all team members, subcontractors, and suppliers in accordance with WCB standards.
• Conducting regular site inspections to assure adherence to the clients quality standards.

• Proven experience in a leadership role within residential construction projects.
• Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary construction methods, materials, and practices.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in scheduling and documenting site activities.
• Relevant certifications such as apprenticeship completion, first aid, or trade-specific qualifications are advantageous.
• Familiarity with Part 9 of the BC Building Code.
• Educational background in related fields through university, college, or accredited courses is beneficial.
