MatchBox Consulting Group is currently seeking an IT Business Applications Lead for a permanent position with a client of ours located in Richmond, BC. This is a 5 day per week in office position. 

Role Overview

This position blends hands-on technical work with team leadership, focusing on enterprise systems, business intelligence, and application reliability. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping system architecture, improving data visibility, and guiding a small technical team.

What You’ll Be Doing

• You will take an active role in building and enhancing enterprise applications, particularly within ERP environments. This includes developing new functionality, refining existing systems, and contributing to modernization efforts across platforms such as shop floor tools, quality systems, and inventory solutions.

• A significant part of the role involves strengthening the organization’s data and reporting capabilities. You’ll design and implement dashboards and data pipelines, transforming operational data into meaningful insights that support strategic decision-making.

• You’ll also help drive forward-looking initiatives, including exploring cloud-based solutions, mobile-friendly applications, and improved system integration across multiple sites.

Leadership & System Ownership

• Beyond development, you’ll be responsible for maintaining the stability and performance of key applications. This includes overseeing upgrades, resolving issues quickly, and ensuring systems remain reliable and efficient.

• You’ll lead a small team, providing technical guidance, reviewing code, and supporting professional growth. Managing workloads, participating in hiring, and conducting performance reviews will also fall within your scope.

• In collaboration with senior leadership, you’ll contribute to aligning technology initiatives with broader business objectives. This includes supporting financial reporting needs and participating in audit-related activities.

Additional Expectations

• You’ll be expected to model strong professional values, foster collaboration, and contribute to a positive and productive team environment. Flexibility is important, as additional responsibilities may arise based on business needs.

What You Bring

• You have a solid academic background in computer science, information technology, or a related field, ideally complemented by business knowledge.

• Your experience includes several years working with ERP systems (QAD is a strong asset) and developing business intelligence solutions such as dashboards and reporting tools. Familiarity with data processing and analytics platforms is important.

• You understand how data connects to business outcomes, particularly in financial and operational contexts, and can clearly communicate insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• You bring leadership capability, whether through direct management or mentoring, and are comfortable working with small teams. Strong interpersonal skills, clear communication, and the ability to collaborate across departments are essential.

• You are self-driven, adaptable, and capable of engaging effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
