Technical Writer – Mining Studies
Part-Time | 12-Month Contract | Remote (BC-based)

We’re seeking an experienced Technical Writer to support the preparation of complex mining study documents on a 12-month, part-time contract basis. This role is ideal for a mining professional with a strong technical background who excels at compiling and refining large-scale study documentation.

About the Role:
You will play a key role in producing cohesive, structured documents such as Gate Reports and Project Execution Plans, working with drafts and inputs from technical teams. Collaboration with engineering, geology, and project stakeholders is essential, and the ability to translate technical input into clear, comprehensive written materials is critical.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, edit, and format technical mining documents for various study phases (Scoping, PFS, FS).

  • Compile and finalize study deliverables including Gate Reports and Project Execution Plans.

  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to gather and synthesize content.

  • Maintain consistency, structure, and clarity across all documents.

  • Support documentation for decision-making reviews and funding presentations.

  • Ensure document control, versioning, and traceability.

  • Translate technical data into accessible written content for varied audiences.

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • 5–15+ years of technical writing experience within the mining sector.

  • Hands-on experience compiling large technical documents for mining studies (e.g., PEA, PFS, FS).

  • Familiarity with base metal and/or gold projects.

  • Strong understanding of mining terminology and technical domains (geology, metallurgy, engineering).

  • Proven ability to work independently and meet deliverables with minimal supervision.

Nice to Have:

  • Previous work on major mining projects, particularly in gold or base metals.

  • Familiarity with study documentation standards used in large mining organizations.

Contract Details:

  • Term: 12 months

  • Schedule: Part-time (~20 hours/week on average, flexible based on workload)

  • Location: BC-based preferred (remote-first, with periodic site/office visits)
