About the Role

MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a Procurement Specialist to join a well-established, multi-disciplinary construction firm with over 80 years of delivering complex public and private sector projects across Canada. This is a permanent, full-time, on-site role supporting multiple business units across a high-volume, fast-paced project environment.

Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the Procurement Specialist will be responsible for the end-to-end coordination of purchasing activities — from sourcing and vendor management to logistics and contract administration — ensuring project teams have the materials, equipment, and services they need to deliver on schedule.

What You’ll Do

• Execute high-volume purchasing of materials, equipment, and services in alignment with project schedules and specifications
• Research and develop vendor and supplier partnerships on behalf of assigned business units and projects, securing the most competitive pricing available
• Source, approve, and finalize purchase orders for goods and services, and oversee site deliveries
• Communicate proactively with project site teams to manage day-to-day operations including rentals, logistics, and purchase order requests
• Coordinate the planning, purchasing, dispatch, and maintenance of the small tools and equipment program
• Establish delivery schedules and coordinate infrastructure logistics with the Equipment Logistics team
• Negotiate and manage construction service agreements and vendor terms
• Work with Project Managers to support Request for Qualifications and Request for Proposal processes
• Provide cross-functional support to other business units for parts and supplies ordering as needed

What We’re Looking For (Must-Haves)

• 2+ years of procurement experience, with exposure to a construction environment
• Knowledge of sourcing and purchasing techniques, with a proven ability to negotiate and build supplier networks
• Familiarity with basic accounting and finance principles
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Experience with a construction ERP system

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience negotiating and managing service and supply contracts
• Technical knowledge of civil construction operations
• Experience with Infor LN or similar ERP platforms
