MatchBox Consulting Group is on the hunt for a Procurement Manager in Winnipeg, MB. Our client is a prominent multinational company in the construction materials industry, specializing in cement, aggregates, and concrete. The company emphasizes corporate social responsibility and innovation in its efforts to provide diverse and environmentally friendly construction solutions.

The Procurement Manager will play a key role in executing procurement strategies in collaboration with Category Managers and local Business leaders. Responsibilities include overseeing the operational and tactical procurement of local goods and services, managing contract implementation, executing category strategies, and communicating supplier performance within the procurement team. Additionally, they take the lead in local supplier procurement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Manage operational and tactical procurement of goods and services categories, adhering to category strategy and relevant policies.
• Serve as the liaison between country Category Management and operations.
• Drive savings, supply efficiency, quality, and process improvements in alignment with regional and global strategies.
• Identify and initiate local saving opportunities through individual projects and initiatives.
• Negotiate with Category Management for local volumes, processes, quality levels, and prices.
• Ensure adherence to global and local procurement policies, convey them to end users, and support the RFx process based on category strategy.

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years in a procurement role with exposure to category management, sourcing, operations, and supply chain management.
• Demonstrated performance in cross-functional teams with a focus on achieving challenging benefits and capability building objectives.
• Proficient in written and oral communication in both English and the local language.
• Demonstrates effective time management, planning, and organizational skills, excelling in handling multiple tasks under pressure.
• Possesses strong collaboration, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, including navigating ambiguities and conflicts in cross-functional environments.
