The Role
Reporting to the Construction Manager, the Project Coordinator will play a key role in supporting project execution from early planning through to close-out. You will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, helping ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to a high standard of quality.
This position offers strong mentorship and the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility, including managing smaller projects with oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery
- Support the execution of multiple construction projects across all phases, including planning, procurement, construction, and close-out
- Assist in managing project scope, schedule, budget, and quality performance
- Coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, and subtrades to ensure alignment and clear communication
- Contribute to planning, tendering, trade coordination, and change management processes
- Take ownership of smaller projects or components with guidance from senior team members
Project Administration
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation and records
- Track schedules, budgets, submittals, and approvals
- Prepare project reports and meeting minutes
- Manage drawing logs, change orders, and site instructions
- Support permitting and ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations
Contracts & Cost Control
- Assist with subtrade prequalification, tendering, and bid evaluations
- Support preparation of subcontracts, change orders, and procurement documentation
- Review invoices and track project costs against progress
- Contribute to cost control and change management processes
Project Close-Out
- Coordinate deficiency tracking and resolution
- Support project inspections and client walkthroughs
- Compile and deliver close-out documentation, including warranties and manuals
Qualifications
Technical Skills & Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in building construction (general contractor, developer, or design-build environment preferred)
- Diploma or degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation
- Experience with estimating, quantity takeoffs, and scheduling tools (MS Project an asset)
- Working knowledge of building codes, contracts, and construction practices
